The recent US Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade was a major setback for women’s reproductive rights, thrusting the debate back into the forefront as if it still deserves one.

The greatest challenge women face today is the interference by State legal controls, lack of funding, limited resources, and financial barriers, all of which stand in the way of women and girls’ ability to exercise autonomy over their bodies and access the health care necessary to thrive.

We believe that women’s reproductive rights should not be made a legal or political issue. It is a private medical issue and a fundamental human right.

When Walker Vreeland and I decided to embark on this project, our goal was to call attention to this vital issue by lifting the diverse, fierce voices of the women poets we think everyone should know and love and who fiercely and beautifully navigate this challenge with their hearts and souls every day!!

We are optimistic that this  poetry audiobook can be an example of the famous Margaret Mead quote: “Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world.” And that, in some way, whether big or small, we will make a difference. By purchasing digital copies of  "The Wild Edge of the Heart: Women Poets Raise their Voices" you’re helping us do just that. You’re becoming a part of that difference while celebrating the best of this art form.

“The Wild Edge of the Heart is an exceptional collection of diverse poetry. The gifted Susan Lambert is an ideal reader with her exquisite sense of the music of language. The poems are funny, moving, tragic and unforgettable. As soon as I finished listening to the collection for the first time, I returned to the beginning in order to listen again.”
